Adding my audio

When doing my audio I decided to have a somewhat structured approach. I printed off my audio sheet and collected some of the more major sounds before starting my audio. I created a folder to organise what shot each of these were for. I did the main block of audio and got a lot of it off of freesound.com, however I wanted to try and do foley as this was my first time creating a film like this. So I decided to record some sounds including footsteps on the concrete and carpet, breathing sounds, the sounds that are to do with the doors and also the sound of clothing using my iphone and uploading them in Premiere. There are some pictures of my recording these sounds below. Doing foley was easier in some aspects than I thought it was. Whilst for the staircase footsteps I had to cut up a longer clip to make it match the footage, using foley for the other footsteps meant I could watch my video as I recorded it to try and get it as on point as possible. In the future I'd like to experiment more with foley as it seems a productive method of gathering the correct audio. I found it interesting walking on the different surfaces to create an effect and using my desk for example as a footstep sound. I was quite happy with how my recordings came out.
Trying foley for the first time:

After having the main bulk of my audio done and adding in my foley sounds where appropriate, I tided up the audio in general. Making sure the ambience of each room was correct and the volume was right for each room, also finding any last sound effects I thought would better my overall film. I decided towards the end not to add music as I somewhat liked the silence of just having the ambience and sound effects. However this is something if I were to go back to I would look into doing. Overall I am proud of the audio as I think it accurately goes with my film. I tried to include a lot of details including the background noise and sound of the clothing which I think really helped. There was a lot of choosing different soundtracks etc but in the end I was very happy with how the audio turned out. Although if I were to go back I would add more cartoony effects and also look into some music for my film.
