Overall, I am very happy with how my first audio drama went. The thing I like the most about my drama is the layering I put into it and the atmosphere I have been able to create. When working with audio I have realised one of the most important things to make audio the most realistic is not the sound effects but the background ambience and any noise going on that is not dominant in the scene. The reason the sound effects are so effective for the listeners is because the ambience is so believable. I found that having the correct ambience of a dining room kitchen with the freezer buzz as well as the far away somewhat echo of the tv makes it realistic. I tried to resemble that TV echo by having the microphone on the opposite side of the room from my television for this aesthetic. Also what is on the TV at the time (the news) we can associate with the morning time before work etc. I am also very happy with my work with the effects on audacity, for example when Brett walks up to the door and is hearing Tiffany on the phone, I felt this was clever to set the scene more and make it more believable that Tiffany has been speaking to this person aside from when she see's Brett. I feel my little fade ins and outs like these when things come further or closer to the camera make for a much more realistic setting. Overall, I am extremely happy with the outcome of my first audio drama.

On the other hand I did find building a story from audio quite difficult, as going from putting audio to visuals from trying to make visuals in the audiences head with audio. I feel I didn't struggle with one specific thing when doing my audio drama however with specific sounds or pieces of audio. I spent a lot of my time trying to figure out how to add sound effects that will layer to make my audio drama more realistic for the audience. I feel I did quite well with this but had a struggle when trying to show emotion through the sound effects I was putting in. An example of this where I struggled was Tiffany sitting at the table in the first scene of my drama. I had the sound effects of the newspaper and her drinking coffee however I still felt something was missing to portray Tiffany's mood. It's morning on a work day so I felt she would be somewhat exhausted and tired therefore I recorded a sigh but struggled to fit this or get the right volume for this so it does feel somewhat out of place. I struggled with this, getting the right sounds or right background noises to make it realistic, however I hope this will become more natural overtime.
