This video showed how a wireframe is a simple blueprint of what you will design. This showed me how to make a simple plan but also digital example of what I will make.

I decided to quickly look at another video to find out the basics and how to immediately do this. From this I was able to know how to draw and plan my wireframe simply without over complicating things.

This video has taught me that opposites on the colour wheel seem to complement each other. And some other combinations, this where I decided to use the greens and dark blues

I decided to look at some more colour theory and videos, this taught me why colours fit well together and how.

I like the design of this portfolio, this is because the colours are subtle to the eye, and there are no overwhelming colours that draw attention away from the photos. I also like the layout of this portfolio from first glance. The title is bold however I feel a name of this particular artist should be put in its place as if I were to come away from this portfolio now, I would not remember the name of this artist. I also like however those examples of work are the first thing you see, so you instantly know whether you will want a deeper look or to keep scrolling.

I also like this part of the website as it clearly maps out and presents the artists experience, following the colour scheme and tactically summing up dates of projects and roughly what each project was about. However I do feel this could be improved with simply adding links on the title of each project, this way it is easier to access and understand what each project looked like. Instead this artist has attached all the projects at the bottom of the portfolio meaning you would either have to come out of the portfolio to search or keep scrolling to find projects you want to see, this method is not quick or easy.

I dislike this web design because for a first page to load on, it feels quite busy. There is a lot of information and the writing doesn’t feel too clear to read. As much as I like all the illustrations at the bottom right I feel as though the colour scheme was not thought about and they do not complement each other. To improve this particular page I would increase the font size on the title and change the font. I would also create a remember able logo and space out the information, making it clearer and easier to know what you are reading. Maybe also instead of the small illustrations that contain skills, add some examples of work and present the skills in a different format as it took me a while to notice these.
I like the layout of this part of the website. Although the colours still don’t seem to complement each other, the colour scheme seems a little more consistent on this page, nothing too in your face and a little more laid back. I like how the skills are laid out with the bars as its clear to the reader and the having the social media icons inserted before the name tags is clear and concise and useful to the reader. I however would change the colour scheme of this website completely and have a look at the colour wheel, maybe using purples and yellows, not adding greens etc.

I really like this website design. First of all I appreciate how the first screen is a memorable icon/logo obviously representing the person this website is presenting, this logo is then carried through the website to make it stick within your head. I like the simplicity of the colours and the simple but effective design in the background. The yellow from the background and the purple from the logo complement each other effectively. Continuing through the website I enjoy how not every point or piece of information is extended out into a long piece of text but just the essentials making it an easy read and straight to the point. The illustrations for each set of information are enjoyable to look at as it not only presents information in the form of pictures as well as words (like the professional skills section). The illustrations also give off a hint of the style this particular artist would present. The skills and qualities are clear and concise. This is to the extent where you feel as if you know the artist personally, you find out hobbies as well as languages. If I were to improve this I think I would have a clearer name, this way when someone wants to talk about this artists website that they had discovered they could be certain of the name and have a reference whereas the name of this particular artist is only mentioned once in a block of text, in this block of text the name doesn’t seem to be highlighted whereas other important words are, I think the name should also be highlighted as this is important when wanting to remember how find the artists information again. Other than that I really like the simplicity of this web design.
